Vox regimen
News, Postbag, Published on 14/05/2019
» Re: "Majority disagree with EC endorsement of party MPs: Suan Dusit poll", (BP, May 12). A popular Latin maxim goes, "Vox populi, vox Dei," or "The voice of the people is the voice of God" and this is why countries hold elections.

Just the way it is...
News, Postbag, Published on 27/05/2019
» The headline on the March 26 Sunday editorial, "Politicians must put public first", caught my eye. "The interruption gave the impression that some politicians are still self-serving, rather than serving both their voters and their country. This is unfortunate." » Re: "Ubon flood saga catches govt napping", (Opinion, Sept 20). The whole problem has many answers. Corruption, low education, but mostly the higher-ups just don't care about poor people and especially those from the North and Northeast even more so.

Threats have run course
News, Editorial, Published on 10/01/2020
» Running events have gained popularity in Thailand recently and the authorities have always supported them. However, once they started carrying a political message against the prime minister, the authorities have done what they should not do. Over the past week, reports have emerged about alleged intimidation by the police and other officials against organisers of the Run Against Dictatorship events, also known as Wing Lai Lung, to be held this Sunday in Bangkok and various provinces.
