A stone's throw

» A child holds her father's hand tightly while boarding a pedal boat. Before her is the large lake that runs along Khao Ngu limestone hills. Located in Muang district in Ratchaburi, the site was once a rock mining area. It has since been turned into a public park, now known as Khao Ngu Stone Park.

» Standing on the ground, I looked up to the cliff above Phet Pho Thong Cave in Sa Kaeo's Klong Hat district. My trainer and guide, Kosol Thianthong told me that he chose the easiest route for my group to try abseiling. The height is about 10m. It didn't look that high from where we stood.

» The peak of Phu Chi Dao Mountain in Chiang Rai's Wiang Kaen district was shrouded in mist. A cool breeze was blowing in from the mountain range in front of me. I zipped up my jacket to the neck and put on the hood while I patiently waited for the sunrise.

» I dipped my hand in a private hot-spring pool in the headquarters of Chae Son National Park in Lampang to test the heat. The temperature was about 40C. It was too hot at first, but for a short while it seemed to be tolerable.
