    Shopping with all your senses

» It feels like there is an Hour Glass store at practically every main street corner in Singapore, but the Hour Glass store that rules them all is situated on Bideford Road, just off Orchard and right next to Paragon. Fashioned under the name Malmaison and having sat at that location since 2011, the opulent enclave of 745m² is largely under the radar to the common pedestrian, despite the fact that what is housed inside could well become your most lush watch-buying experience ever. Even a local tour guide confirms that most Singaporeans are oblivious to the lavish encounter that awaits inside.

    Timelessness in a bottle

» Considering her lifelong love for cosmetics, Muriel Pujos couldn't have asked for a better job. Based in New York and working for Philosophy, Pujos's latest responsibility has been going on a global tour to unveil the skincare brand's latest serum, which promises to resist, renew and repair the skin for women of all age groups. Aptly named Time In A Bottle, the serum part even lets you have a bit of mad-scientist fun. With a bright-red vial of activator, rich in Himalayan red-rice extract and red-grape-ferment extract to resist tomorrow's signs of ageing, you'll have to pour this liquid into the main serum and shake for 20 seconds before first use. This latest 3D technology ensures the freshness of the product and works even better with their lotion of the same name, when used twice daily. Recently in Bangkok for the launch of Time In A Bottle, the scientific communication director tells us how she runs the world of beauty and science.

» Only one word can encapsulate Tattoo Colour and what it's like to be sitting in the same room with them: guan teen. This would roughly translate to its members' smartass demeanour. It is no wonder that this energy, time and time again, makes their music feel like the equivalent of your all-knowing college BFF giving you a pat on the back (or smack in the head) when love goes bitter.

    Disney for days

» Two American things Thais really like come together this season. As one of the exclusive projects that celebrate American pop culture and to commemorate Coach's 75th anniversary, the house of leather joins hands with the House of Mouse to create limited-edition bags that play canvas to the world's most famous mouse. With sketches created by Disney's animators, Mickey Mouse sits on the signature glove-tanned leather of totes, bag packs, wallets and messenger bags. Like the previous Peanuts collection, the embossed character at the bottom of the bag is a bit of a blink-and-you'll-miss decoration, but this time, there are bold hang-tags in the shape of Mickey's gloves and face also. If you'd rather proclaim your love more loudly, some bags have the actual Mickey Mouse ear sprouting out from body, which can be spotted a mile away, be it in black or the very red of Mickey's two-buttoned pants. Find the Disney x Coach collection at Coach stores in CentralWorld, The EmQuartier and Siam Paragon.

» Hailed as a woman who has revived modern tap dance, Sarah Reich commands a strong following -- her YouTube videos have garnered almost 1 million views. Fusing a funky street style and catchy beats of today with classic tap techniques, it's not just swing music that she taps into: Lady Gaga's Bad Romance and Star Wars theme songs are among her playlist. The tap awakens, indeed.

» His words tumble out slowly and at times repetitively, without the groomed articulation that one might expect of a global magnate whose job is also to be the poster boy of his empire. He continuously fiddles with a sugar pot. Up close, he seems wirier than in pictures, and save for the iconic long hair and beard, the 65-year-old Brit on the other side of the table looks nothing like one of the world's most influential billionaires.

» A thousand unread messages are waiting for Nida "Rimi" Doowa in the hilariously named chat group "Choom Tang Siang Tong" (Junction Of Golden Voices) on Line. Her fellow contestants from The Voice Thailand Season 2 are clearly a chatty bunch, but the Thai-born Indian smiles at the thought of other things the show has brought her in launching her music career.

    Bangkok Noi bling

» There's no doubt that Thai wooden houses possess a quaint and charming character you'd be hard-pressed to replicate elsewhere. Therefore, it's somewhat aggravating that they don't enjoy the same fawning over that neoclassical or colonial buildings in Bangkok do when it comes to preservation. Rickety, stilt wooden houses alongside the river may seem common and "normal" for the average Thai, but Bangkok-based Filipina entrepreneur Irma Go has always loved these structures, especially while taking visiting family and friends on boat tours on the sleepy canals of Bangkok.
