Thailand's female national cyclist is armed and ready

» We sat down with Jutatip Maneephan (Beaze Za), the Thai national team's number one female cyclist who has won gold medals at both Asian Games and SEA Games. She will be going to the 29th SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia this month. Athletes are not made in a day and Beaze Za has been competing since her pre-teens. She's also now currently doing military service and working at the Weapon Production and Defence centre. » Just last month, after a long week of challenging race conditions in Abu Dhabi, Kamolwan "Bam" Chanyim achieved her dream of becoming the first Thai woman to qualify for the Olympics sailing competition. Hers, a Laser Radial, was similar to what His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej used to sail. Inspired by our 20-year-old national athlete, Guru sat down with Bam to find out more about the young lady who made a momentous imprint on Thai sailing history.

» Sienna De L'Orpaz is Editor in Chief of The Editor Magazine, an intercultural high fashion magazine that is set to be opening its pages — print, online and digital — to Bangkok and the world in January. We felt it necessary to catch up with Sienna as this will be no ordinary magazine, whatsoever. With the aim of removing the bars through which the fashion world has caged us, Sienna feels it's The Editor's responsibility to "break the norms traditional media has bound us by and set unconventional boundaries for beauty and fashion through diminishing all conformities and social norms by including all ages, sizes, nations and cultures". » We had the privilege to meet with the very talented US-artist Gracelee Lawrence, who recently finished her year as a visiting artist in the Multidisciplinary Department of Art at Chiang Mai University on a Luce Scholars Fellowship. Her exhibition "When Watched" is currently showing at Bridge Art Space (<a href="http://fb.com/bridgeartspace">fb.com/bridgeartspace</a>) and ends on September 16. The exhibition is comprised of digital sculptures, videos, stories on the wall, illustrations and poems made using Google translate. Head there real quick if you haven't already. Spiritual journeys on Bangkok's BTS

» Those familiar with the contemporary art circles of Thailand will know that Kamin Lertchaiprasert's name carries immense respect. The Silpakorn University graduate and former student of The Art Student League of New York has spent most of his career developing a deep interest in religion and philosophy. Previously known for co-founding The Land Foundation that turned rice fields into spaces for site-specific art and architectural projects, as well as a number of international solo exhibitions, Kamin will now, potentially, be known for something even more soul awakening. He is currently crowdfunding a pioneering art project that will give Bangkok its first ever city-wide mobile installation. The campaign, "Universal Connections" is set to wrap an entire BTS train, inside and out, with pieces of art composed of "spiritual fractals". We sat down with the talented artist to find out more about this exciting project. » Kelly B Jones is pretty well known in Bangkok’s acting circles; in recent years, among many roles, she played the lead in Culture Collective’s play Death of Miss America and was in two feature films by Asylum Films, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and Troy 2, which is due to to come out at the end of October. But Guru, enamoured also by her ability to juggle different roles outside the world of acting, decided to sit down with the talented actress and voice-talent to dig deeper into her quest for making the planet more eco-friendly, one school at a time. Her current position as Director of IPC Green International Preschool and Nursery, Bangkok’s first eco-friendly school, is testament to this journey we all need to start walking, together.
