    » It was an almost overwhelming experience of sights and sounds on Sunday as the Bangkok CityCity Gallery played host to Korakrit Arunanondchai's crazy, conceptual world of burnt denim, nightmare-inducing mannequins, and a giant cyber-jungle monster. A collection by the New York-based multimedia artist comprising denim paintings, abstract body paint and a floor-to-ceiling installation of entangled foliage, drones, wires, electronics and mannequins engendered a mixture of awe, appreciation and confusion in equal measure.

A 14 billion baht development project that will link the Rama VII and Pin Klao bridges together, the promenade will include parks, recreational areas, walking paths and spacious bicycle lanes with full access and views to the river. This is the first in a series of planned river projects that will eventually cover 57km of the banks of the "River of Kings".

That just so happened to have occurred at the opening of "Paradise Of The Blind" by Sutthirat Supaparinya at The Reading Room last week. The show is the first part of the "Sleepover" series, a six-month project involving handing over the library to six influential groups or figures, giving them complete autonomy over the space for one month each.

Jamie's Italian, a partnership between renowned British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his mentor Gennaro Gontaldo, will be opening its doors at the newly renovated Siam Discovery in the 4th quarter of this year. Menu highlights will include dishes such as tagliatelle bolognese, with the pasta being freshly made on-site daily. Must try pizzas include the funghi misti and the classic margherita with ingredients being free-range, sustainable and ethically produced. What's even better is the restaurant will work closely with local Thai farmers to showcase their products.

Tomorrow, they're hosting Swinging In The Rain, a fun-filled event starting off with a screening of the 1952 American musical comedy classic Singing In The Rain. Once everyone is hyped up, the crew will then teach basics of swing dancing for half-an-hour, which will move into a full-on freestyle dance afterwards. Topping it off, Bangkok Swing will then move to SoulBar for a funky and soul-filled after party. The movie screening starts at 4.30pm, with a 100 baht entry fee.
