» As the year comes to a close and we're all looking back at the past 12 months with introspection, at Guru we will stick to time-honoured tradition of being reflectively snarky. Like any other year, 2021 had no shortage of cringe-worthy and WTF moments. So before we head into the new year with resolutions we'll give up on halfway through the first month of 2022, let's roll out the metaphorical red carpet as we award moments from the eventful year. It's time for this year's edition of the Guru Awards.

» K-pop stans and Blinks across the world were sent into a frenzy when Blackpink's Lisa released her solo debut album, Lalisa, a few weeks ago. The internet quickly fell in love with its addictive beat and rhythm, but the accompanying music video featured more than just tantalising visuals drenched in neon lights -- it featured the Buri Ram native in a traditional Thai headdress and the Prasat Hin Phanom Rung.

Though we're not entirely out of the woods yet, the fact remains that a new year means we can turn a new leaf and look forward to the things yet to come this year. It's also home to a variety of homegrown talent be it in the entertainment industry or elsewhere. Sure, you can probably name a bunch off the top of your head that people go gaga for right here in the country, but there's also a number of them who are pretty well-known internationally, some of whom you may not be aware of. Either way, these are people who are making their motherland proud and whose works are worthy to be celebrated. » Netflix has taken over all of our lives and we've sat back and welcomed it. "Netflix and chill" is now meant in the literal sense rather than being used as a euphemism back in the day i.e. a year or so ago. With the recent boom of the streaming service, it's no surprise that they show no signs of stopping. Having released a huge amount of new content this year, they also announced exciting releases for 2019 at the "What's Next" event at Singapore recently, with series from Thailand, too.

» Dhanut Tungsuwan is an up-and-coming artist who has had a number of exhibitions showing off his immense talent and work in Britain. A Harrow alum, he studied art and design at Central Saint Martins and Chelsea College of Art & Design. He's now back in Thailand where he recently opened a new exhibition entitled "Transitions" at Tadu Contemporary Art by Thaiyarnyon. Guru spoke to him about the exhibition, and his ideas and inspiration.

Specialising in gay parties which feature drag divas like Drag Race Thailand co-host Pangina Heals as well as several contestants from the show, G-Spot Entertainment has just celebrated its fourth year and shows no signs of stopping.
