    get married in Thailand

By Anonymous, Created on: 10/06/2002, Last updated on: 21/01/2008

» I want to get married, but a civil wedding, not religious. I am from Spain and we want to come to Thailand for holidays and marry. What do I have to do to find a judge?

    • Anonymous commented : this "dowery"/ bride-price system. Though sometimes it works well. Be well aware that : 1) foreigners can not own land, 2) foreigners can only own 49% of a company, 3) that Thai police usually take the Thai person's side, and anyhow want money for whatever they do, and 4) that all of the above are means by which many, many farang are fleeced by their Thai wife's family - to the point of economic ruin for the farang : after which the woman moves on to her next, unsuspecting victim.

    • Anonymous commented : sense, the often abused dowry system also needs to be abolished. Or do Thai people want to go back to the lifestyle centuries ago? Have a life expectancy of several decades less? Not have a cure for so many infectious diseases?

    Pre-Marital Sex. - Part I.

By Anonymous, Created on: 18/06/2003, Last updated on: 26/04/2007

» Hello Mr. Rooster ; I moved this discussion to this more appropriate thread. Mr. Rooster wrote : "People are like animals, and their sexual drives will involve some types of pre-marital sex. So prostitution will be there to provide needed service. " The sexual urge is indeed extraordinarily powerful,...

    • Anonymous commented : everyone to see, our current system of selecting a mate (dating/love) does not work! Everyone quotes divorce rates of 50+%, but I say those statistics are nonsense, and our divorce rate is actually 99.9%! Why do I say this? I consider EVERY sexual relationship that ends to be a divorce. In other words, if two people are having a sexual relationship, then in God's eyes they should be married. This is exactly what common law marriage is all about. If that relationship ends, it is no less of a divorce because they did not get married, although it does not show up in divorce statistics. Put another way, let's say that marriage is outlawed. If no-one is getting married, then the divorce rate would fall to ZERO also! This appears to suggest that every relationship is wonderful, when in fact the reality could be very different. The picture for marriages is bleak, but the picture for singles is equally bleak. About one million or more teenage girls become pregnant every year, at a rate of 3000 per day, 80% of whom are unmarried. Out of this I million, about 500,000, decide to keep their baby, and 450,000 are aborted (or ? murdered). 100,000 decide to deliver and give the baby up for adoption. In 1950 the incidence of birth from unmarried teenagers was only 13.9%, but in 1985 it increased to 59%. In 1985 alone, 10 million cases of chlamydia, 2 million cases of gonorrhea, I million venereal warts, 0.5 million genital herpes and 90,000 syphilis were diagnosed. Not a pretty picture. So getting married does not work, and staying single does not work. Our current system does not work! It was not this way before. Cheers!!

    • Anonymous commented : cultures. Rigid social caste system based on race, rank, profession, wealth, or etc.. Or those recent European religions like Nazism, Social Darwinism, or Apartheid...which are more based on racism and human superiority over others. Other forms of social manipulations are communism, socialism, and capitalism are forms of humanism. They are all attempting to control human beings in artificial environments. Social problems would naturally increase with increase in population. These social problems would tend to concentrate in the large and small urban areas.

    • Anonymous commented : he had her first period! The system of modern education teaches that virginity should be protected until university graduation, and if a woman chooses to lose it before we panic because we think it's such a big problem." - Outspoken writer Lakhana Punvichai in Bangkok Post Real Time, March 28, 2003. "She says men fear her. She says they try to stay away from her free-spoken radius of tough thoughts and liberal lucidity. Now we hear her think, we watch her unravel, and ah, we say those men don't know what they are missing." Sadly, Ms. Lakhana attempts to legitimize casual student sex by comparing student sex to marrying your soul mate and life's partner when you are young. They are not the same at all. For my feelings on this teaching, see my 'Background Info' post. Yes, I am afraid of her, and yes, I do know what I am missing. Cheers!!!

    • Anonymous commented : sons, but the way the Bargirl system operates, seems to have greatly reduced the level of criminality normally associated with 'prostitution' in other more 'developed' countries which regularly castigate Thailand for it's moral laxity, but conveniently forget that in their own countries, Criminal elements derive considerable wealth from their activities. I do not think they can expect to judge other nations on their attitudes, when the systems they employ, obviously are no better, and in many cases worse than what they kick up a stink about in other countries.

    • Anonymous commented : be able to choose. Education system by itself already forcing Thai people to get marry at a later age. Most Thai leaders have miotic views of education and future, because of self-interests and foreign cultural influences. There is limited carreer choices for women who are divorced with children. They could not support their our children and their old parents with minimum wage, so prostitution may be an unwanted carreer of choice. I do not think that anything of significant will change soon in my lifetime. So those who want to marry or having sex with 10 years old will have to waite awhile longer or get a single bullet.

Learning about Thai ladies in marriage and culture

By Anonymous, Created on: 23/08/2003, Last updated on: 21/10/2007

» I would like to learn about the Thai lady in marriage and the Thai culture. The reason for this, is that after literally travelling the world for many years, during work commitments, and meeting along the way many ladies for serious relationships. I met along the way a lady from Thailand. We met many...

    • Anonymous commented : Thailand have a smarter system of allowing free ownership but taxing foreigner and / non-resident ownership ? This way Thais who've stolen from the country - such as those pyramid scammers evading Thailand's statute of limitations by staying abroad - could be caught with a massive tax bill.

    Does thai society accept intermarriages?

By Anonymous, Created on: 19/09/2003, Last updated on: 09/05/2006

» The thai men that are undesirable are usually uneducated ones who try to get through life by being sleazy. This is why alot of thai women are turned off by marrying a thai man. Typical thai males are fairly unambitious, narrow-minded, and judgemental. I think that its the society that is teaching...

    • Anonymous commented : ucation policy, the education system is discriminating against rural and poor Thais. The education system itself is discriminating againt Thai men and always by age discrimination. The system is rigged to serve women, urbanites, and foreigners. The testing system is imported from foreign culture which is designed to select people from their classes. These tests are not for testing male's masculine brains...left or right sides of the human brain. These resulting in vast majority of Thai women bring educated over Thai men. As a result, most Thai teachers and those running Thai education system are women who are quiet comfortable with the current system. Oh, we should take a took at Japan - how Japan modernized their education system? - during the advance of Western Imperialism era. Many foreign educated Thai men left to Thailand for high education for various reasons...one of this reason is admission process. Rich families are able to send their children abroad, and poor families ended up without education. If you think carefully, how can anyone determine a person potential by giving them written examinations. It is so backward; it is the same season for the decline of confucianism. Recently, I have been conducting my own experiment by testing my hypothesis from the know statistic. As from my previous posting, the computer usages by Thai female to male ratio is 2:1. This is due to different factors beside education. Computer is a easiest way for Thai women to reach out to the world or to foreign men. To make this short, I tested 4 websites with Thai women posting their pictures and profiles looking for friendships. I got all positive hits or good invitions when I portraying myself as foreign men, and negative reception as Thai man. All of these women or girls are looking for foreign men with only few of them having any knowledge of these countries and people. I only found one exception girl who is looking for Thai man; she is a 21 years old Thai-Chinese girl. I tested the women and girls in the age group between 16 to 30 years old. I have more than one women telling me that they hated Thai men. Of course, I did not ask them why...tried not to review myself to them. I think that it is very sad...Thai culture and Thai men is in decline and an endangered specie. We are bring breed out of our land by foreigners with the help from our women. What do Thai men have to hope for in their women?
