Tend your bloom

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 25/03/2022

» I'd be lying if I said wellness retreats are a complete walk in the park. However, fashion brand Sretsis' collaboration with award-winning resort Kamalaya Koh Samui makes the whole experience a lot more palatable. Launched this month, the Blossom To Bliss programme has been curated by Sretsis to offer guests a range of wellness experiences and rejuvenating treatments during their three- or five-night stay. A selection of exclusive Sretsis merchandise, which is included in this package, adds a flowery fantasy to this seemingly austere pursuit.

Love, always

Muse, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 11/08/2018

» Flowers are always a nice gesture, but ones that can last forever are sure to give you a better run for your money. Why not gift mum with some jewellery pieces that come with the floral sentiment? Flowery assortments from Swarovski come in contemporary designs which feature a timeless black and white colour combo. They've also got a pearl option where they can be removed from the earring to channel the asymmetrical earring trend. If you want real diamonds, Tilda's Mother's Day collection features florals which also hold symbolic meaning through eight flower petals. Eight represents infinity, or infinite love in Western culture, while signifying wealth, or infinite fortune in Chinese culture. Otherwise, seal your love with hearts from Pandora which also comes in rose or golden hues this season. Their iconic logo and heart-shaped charms come in sweet colours that will blend right in with your staple silver set, while there are also letter charms to spell out your appreciation for mum.

The mall will turn into the ancient Kingdom of Lanna and will be extravagantly decorated with flags and lanterns. Activities at the Sook Jai Zone will feature Lanna-style performances such as Jeng dance, a northern elegant but exhilarating dance that has roots in martial arts. At the Sard Sanook Zone, splash away all the heat at the mobile water park, which will be equipped with a giant water slide and water tunnel. For some retro fun, there will also be a traditional temple fair, with all its old-fashioned ice pops, sugar candy sculptures, shooting galleries and dunk tank girls. Puttin' on the T

Muse, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 15/04/2017

» Gone are the wooden cart and seaside vibes of Vick's Weekend. That spacious corner, the equivalent of real estate gold in Qurator, the Thai designer fashion zone in EmQuartier, has now made way for another label. Alongside other big houses like Asava, Disaya and Vickteerut, you'll now be greeted with TandT -- the brainchild of Thanawut Thanasarnvimon. It's a big season for this brand that is best known for their rebellious mixture of semi-couture and street wear. Not only is their latest collaboration with Double Goose T-shirts a hit with the fashion cognoscenti, but TandT has also been the latest to join Bangkok Fashion Society this spring -- a milestone most established houses must have tacked on their wall at one point or another. With a small member list that rarely exceeds 15 names, it is undoubtedly the most exclusive club that serves as the governing body and platform for their Thai labels to grow through connections and collaborations.

Hottest splurging meccas for fashion?

Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 24/02/2017

» When shopaholics of the world plan a splurging spree, Kuwait is seldom the first country that comes to mind. It's not the sort of place that registers on the world consciousness, fashion-wise, the way France or Japan does, but this Gulf country, with its population of roughly 4 million, has been home to the hottest names long before Bangkok has -- despite its religious limitations and seemingly sleepy landscape with an even sandier backdrop. While hardly being tourism-amped as a shopping mecca, it does just as well as such much-more-buzzed-about Middle Eastern counterparts as Dubai. So much is the demand for fashion there that two Thai designer brands, Tawn C. and S'uvimol, have set their sights on this lucrative market and celebrate official launches in Kuwait City this season.

Sisterhood of the travelling bicycles

Muse, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 29/11/2014

» 'It's different from being in a car," the tall blonde, Carlijn Bettink, says. "There's lots of interaction when you're on a bike, which is really good for travelling. We're four girls cycling in the heat and people just enjoy watching. When we try to go up hills, people are always laughing and they all go, 'You girls are crazy! What are you doing?!'."
