But one can never have too many Italian joints, especially when you live in Bangkok. Thus, the recently opened Pizza Massilia Ruam Rudee was welcomed to the neighbourhood with open arms. It helps too, that the restaurant has already made a name for itself, dishing out great pizza during last year’s food truck boom. Its restaurant counterpart, though, is operating on a much larger scale, with more items on the menu and top-notch service in a striking locale with a late baroque interior and pastel hues. Visually stunning, the aesthetics take a pizzeria experience to the next level, as well as reflect the unique stance on cuisine.

We have our once-in-a-lifetime trip perfectly planned, and can probably recite the whole itinerary and list of attractions backwards, if need be. Whether it’s horseback riding along the Silk Road, driving the US coast-to-coast, rafting down the Mekong River or, in my case, sailing across the Mediterranean Sea and hummus tasting. This, regardless of the fact that my knot-tying knowledge doesn’t exceed those on my trainers. But hey, we all have dreams.
