» Early on Friday morning, there was some excitement in the overnight news about an app developed in Russia that applied artistic effects to photographs. This is not a new idea and I have had some apps that do similar tasks, going back to when I had the iPhone 3G.

Apple's 'Spring Forward' could be a leap ahead

» Apple sent out invitations for a "Spring Forward" event, which will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco on March 9. Some sources are already reporting that a white structure is being built alongside the Center, similar to the one constructed at the Flint Center for the announcement of the Apple Watch last September.

» Some photo apps for the iPhone and iPad can produce quite unusual results. One of my favourites is Distressed FX ($0.99; 32 baht). The name refers to effects we often see on designer jeans (think Diesel), giving them a worn look. Distressed FX has two main sets of effects: filters and textured papers.
