Life, Sirinya Wattanasukchai, Published on 07/06/2013
» What's wrong with you guys? Do you have to protest against every plan that is designed to boost the economy and the image of the country? What's wrong with a Formula 1 race in the old town square? These races have been held around the world _ Monte Carlo, Silverstone and, closer to home, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, to name just a few.

If you change nothing, then nothing will change
Life, Parisa Pichitmarn, Published on 22/08/2013
» Why do bus drivers in Bangkok drive like F1 racers on ya ba? Because that's the way things are. Why do the trains we use still look no different from when my late grandfather was a young man? Because that's the way things are. Why are motorcycle-taxi drivers completely okay with speeding through a red light? Well boo-hoo-hoo and too bad. Because that's just the way things are.

Postbag: Terror as clear as day
News, Published on 18/04/2014
» Re: “South claims lack clarity” editorial, April 16. What do you mean by lacking clarity? It’s as plain as the nose on your face, that terrorism is rife in the South of Thailand. The US, Australia, England and any other country has every right to warn their citizens to be alert. After all, it does not take a group of people to qualify as being terrorists. One person, acting on his own, who plants a bomb in a restaurant, temple or mosque, is a terrorist, and any country that has citizens visiting Thailand has an obligation to warn them to be careful of where they go and what they do. Don’t ask foreign countries why they issue warnings. Just open your eyes and see what is going on down South, and do something about it.

Cutting road death toll starts with us
News, Published on 31/08/2014
» As disgustingly high as Thailand's road death toll is, the laws are often willfully disregarded and any sense of safety, patience or respect are flagrantly discarded. The evidence for this would be clear to anyone who has even walked past a road in this country, but a particularly chilling example surfaced last week that showed exactly how deadly a lack of consideration can be.
