MEA Advances Rama IV Road with Underground Cables

» The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the Telecommunications Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, the Royal Thai Police, telecommunications entrepreneurs, and network operators, is supporting the removal of communication cables along Rama IV Road from the Bangkok Station (Hua Lamphong) area to the Sam Yan Intersection, spanning 1.5 kilometres. This initiative is part of a larger project to install an underground communication cable system, with plans to continue the removal of overhead cables in the area until May 2024.

» ICONSIAM, in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Royal Thai Police, and the Royal Thai Navy, as well as various government agencies in the area, such as the Marine Department, Khlong San District Office, Metro Police 8 Khlong San Police Station, Pak Khlong San Fire Station Water Police Division, and related staff, convened on December 30, 2023, to finalise a detailed security plan. The teams conducted drills to ensure a shared understanding of their collaborative operations, with the aim of maintaining heightened security at all points and increasing staffing to the maximum level for rigorous safety enforcement.

Oil Spill Incident at the Single Buoy Mooring (SBM-2)

» Thai Oil Public Company Limited (the “Company”), reports that the oil spill incident near the Single Buoy Mooring (SBM-2) has been successfully resolved. The latest aerial and maritime surveys conducted in the morning of September 7, 2023, revealed no remaining oil residue. Given the current controlled situation, the Royal Thai Navy has issued an order to close the Command Centre of Oil Spill Response, 1st Naval Area Command. However, continuous monitoring and oil residue inspections will persist, along with the preparation of personnel and equipment in case of any future oil residue discovery.

» Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited, or SPRC, in alliance with Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and Rayong Entrepreneurs in Map Ta Phut and Ban Chang Industrial Estate Area, arranged a beach cleaning event in Rayong or International Coastal Cleanup 2022 (ICC 2022) under the campaign “Sea the Change.” SPRC and its alliance groups gathered more than 1,000 volunteers attending the cleaning event at Mae Ramphueng Beach, Rayong Province, and almost 3,000 kilograms of trash was collected.

» Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) led by Jaturong Suriyasasin, Deputy Governor commemorated the “10th Anniversary of EV by MEA” with EV charging station technology and innovation featuring at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show 2022 (Motor Show 2022). Together with MEA specialists, advice was provided to the public on EV Home Charger design and installation. Electricity system preferences, relevant devices, internal electricity monitor requirement, and related services were all covered. Those interested could take advantage of a special promotion at the MEA booth at the event.

MEA in collaboration with BMA opens new EV Charging Station at Benchakitti Park

» Pol Gen Aswin Kwanmuang, Bangkok Governor, together with Khachit Chatchawanit, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and Jaturong Suriyasasin, Deputy Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), presided over the opening ceremony of an EV Charging Station at Benchakitti Park. The two new charger ports are AC Normal Charger type with 22 kW capacity. During an introductory period, they will serve the public free of charge.

MEA warns against scammers with fake electricity services and equipment

» The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), led by Jumpote Himacharoen, Corporate Communications Director, has issued a warning against scammers who pretend to be MEA agents in order to commit fraud by selling fake electricity services such as air conditioner cleaning and forging electricity bills, cut-off notifications and meter installations.
