Touch-me-not travel
Business, Published on 12/05/2020
» As travel vaporises in the face of on-off lockdowns, airlines, airports and hotels are pondering the future of hospitality in these fluid and fearful socially distanced times. Professional hosts are examining how to safely distance yet offer hospitable warmth without turning everything into a set from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

A tale of two cities
Life, Tatat Bunnag, Published on 21/08/2019
» There is no room for nostalgia in modern Thailand. At least, that's what the prevailing attitude in the capital appears to have been in recent decades, as its rapid development has continued apace. Grand old buildings, temples, villages and other heritage structures have been knocked down to make way for roads, urban rail, high-rises, condominiums and glitzy shopping malls.

» When Lezlie Harrison sings, she captures the attention of the whole room. We've had the pleasure of listening in on one of the nights she was performing and we fell head over heels with her sound and bubbly personality. Hailing from New York, she has returned to our beloved city and graced us with her original take on jazz, blues and soul music at The Living Room. Guru chats to her as she lets us in on her favourite artists, what she thinks about the jazz bars in Bangkok and a few of the non-touristy must-do's if we ever find ourselves in the Big Apple.

Retro grade
Life, Pattramon Sukprasert, Published on 09/12/2015
» Charoen Krung Road, Thailand's first road completed in 1864, was once a hub of prosperity, rich with money, culture and diversity. Once home to expats, embassies, religious and ethnic communities and shophouses, the road and its many sois have now been enlivened by a younger vibe, from Maitri Chit Road near Yaowarat (Chinatown) to the galleries in mid-Charoen Krung.
