    » Amorn Chaivongfhun, a 26-year-old Thai women, reported at the Pattaya police station that she had been cheated of a valuable iPhone. She claimed to have met a man in a shop on Walking Street who said he could provide an excellent time in bed. After accepting his offer and going to his room, Amorn stepped into the shower and the man stepped out of the room with her 20,000-baht mobile phone. Police later caught 46-year-old Chalermporn Saeung who admitted to the theft and offered to return the iPhone to avoid going to jail. He was released after giving back the telephone and paying a 2,000 baht fine.

    Motorbike thieves rob Swiss woman

    » A woman carrying 7,000 baht, a mobile phone, a credit card and a passport was attacked as she was driving along Soi Buakhao on her motorbike. Milica Ceh, age 48, apparently was followed by two men on a motorbike who bumped into her bike causing it to crash. In the confusion, the 48-year-old woman lost her shoulder bag containing the valuables. She was taken to hospital. Police assigned a special detective to look into the case. The assaulted woman was unable to give a detailed description of her attackers but said they were men wearing black T-shirts.

    Angry factory worker stabs colleague

    » A woman confessed to stabbing to death a fellow factory worker suspected of having burgled her room. The incident took place at the RT Transport Company in Banglamung. Nuanchawee Boonphrom, age 34, told police that she had murdered Kaesorn Sukpee, 44, in cold blood  after a furious argument about thefts. The dead woman was found with knife wounds amid pools of blood, but her bankbook and mobile phone had not been stolen. Police found no evidence that the dead woman had stolen Nuanchawee’s property. Investigations continue.

    Chinese scammer turns off mobile

    » Eleven Chinese nationals are up in arms after the promise of staying in a luxury hotel in Pattaya went very sour as they ended up in a desolate and shabby place in North Pattaya. Tour leader A-Ping allegedly told the tourists that they would have a luxurious time in Pattaya, but they found out the accommodation provided was of a disgraceful standard with very few facilities. Pattaya Tourist Police tried to contact A-Ping but he had turned off his mobile phone. A decision was then taken by the police to move the group to a luxury hotel which led to smiling faces all round. The search for A-Ping continues.

    Plastic bag suicide in Naklua

    » A Swedish man who called his country’s embassy with a suicide threat apparently delivered on his intention. Police found the body of David Cavallin, 43, lying on his bed with a suffocating plastic bag over his head. There was no sign of a struggle or third-party presence; the mobile phone he used was next to the body. Neighbors said Cavallin was a cheerful character who did not appear to have any problems and loved to exercise in his bare feet. The Swedish embassy, which told the police of the fateful phone call, said officials would cooperate in the investigation.

    » An elderly German tourist was temporarily robbed in North Pattaya after being surprised by a sexual offer.  Police volunteers detained the suspect, 25 year old Mr Lek Joomsin, who denied being a pickpocket but could not explain why he had the foreigner’s mobile phone in his underwear.
