Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 03/11/2010
» It was a busy week for Apple last week with financial results and a "Back to the Mac" event. Both were reported in the Bangkok Post Business section and are well-covered online. We had a new iLife; Facetime for the Mac; a report on some features of OS X, 10.7, Lion, which incorporates technology from iOS (the iPhone system); and a Mac App store which will be online by January. The iPhone 4: So far, so good
Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 13/10/2010
» I have had the new iPhone 4 in my hands for just over a week and have been getting used to its new features and superior performance. The iPhone 3G that I have been using for some 18 months now has served me well. The software I use to write the XML file for my podcast let me down and I ended up recreating the files.

Some more useful utilities for OS X
Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 02/06/2010
» I have recently been looking at utilities new users may find useful. Before making any changes, make sure your data is backed up. That should be second nature to computer users (Mac or PC), but for many people the message has not yet gotten through.

A warrior’s mentality to maintenance
Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 28/04/2010
» On several occasions while writing about OS X here, I have mentioned the idea of preventative maintenance _ fixing things before they go wrong. There is a school of thought that tells us “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’’, but a modern operating system has so many things going on that we cannot see (so cannot know about). Only specialist software will help.
