By Chris-TH, Created on: 19/06/2009, Last updated on: 01/07/2009

Just a reminder: "(3) being a concessionaire or continuing to hold a concession from the State, State agency, State enterprise or local administration or being a party to a contract of a directly or indirectly monopolistic...

    • Chris-TH commented : Here we go again!!, but like I posted in my initial post, the illegallity of holding shares is not from the 2007 Constitution, but goes all the way back to the Counter Corruption law from 1999: "Asked if the ruling Democrat Party would support the bid, he said he believed MPs from the ruling party wanted to see an amendment although they might be afraid of a public backlash and added that MPs should boldly amend what they needed to as they were empowered to do. Theptai Senapong, spokesman for the Democrat Party leader, said he believed the Constitution Court would rule fairly on the matter and the party was not worried. Theptai also insisted that the party would not amend the charter for its own benefit and some politicians were wrong to claim they were not familiar with the details of article 265 (2).[/color:2i29mybg] Any disqualification, he said, could result in a by-election but not a general election. Meanwhile, Vicharn Meench-ainan, Pheu Thai MP for Bangkok and head of the Bangkok group of MPs for Pheu Thai, launched an attack on those behind the junta-sponsored 2007 charter, saying they were not politicians and had been bent on destroying politicians.[/color:2i29mybg] He said that if seven of the 16 MPs were disqualified it would certainly compromise the functioning of the opposition. Vicharn criticised the charter article as "pedantic" and added that it was unfair for government officials to hold shares in private firms.

    Censorship baton passes

    Database, Published on 16/06/2010

» A parliamentary showdown caused a cabinet reshuffle caused the end of the career of the best information and technology minister Thailand has had since 2009; farewell Ranongruk Suwunchwee, who transformed the ministry from a mere communications technology bureaucracy into a true Ministry of Internet Censorship of Thailand (MICT); also looking for work will be Ms Rangongruk's spouse Pairote, who will presumably lose his unofficial but thriving office at the ICT ministry; it will be difficult for new minister and Democrat Party functionary Juti Krairiksh to live up to the standard of the previous censor, but he insisted he was up to the task; within days of taking office, Juti confirmed that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva had personally instructed him that monitoring websites was one of the three most important jobs he would ever perform for the country.

The coordinating conjunctions (CC) are: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, and so. These CCs can be remembered with the mnemonic "fanboys". The acronym comes from for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
