» if married in thailand i am a uk man she is thai lady can she have a claim on my property and my bussiness if we were to divorce

    • Anonymous commented : hase you to sell them and buy new condo nearby London, or if they are stock, let you switch from BP to Shell stock. If you do this, all your money is subject to share her. Even if you dont confess, Thai resident lawyors or 'True' detective service in London track down your personal information about double marriage, hidden property and hidden children. My best advice to all of you are Dont register marriage, but support thai wife and if you really love her, buy a house to her, and say clearly "This is all what I can do for you because I love you". That is it, then your life will be safer. If you have new child from thai wife, you can concede title to child with its fater - your name, then your wife and her sibling can not sell it without your attention to the registration office (in Thailand, regional land department, Do not put thai wife name as the inheritant, or her brothers will do harm to you children). Once again, the best advice to all of you farang men is, do not register marriage.

By Mr. Surin Province, Created on: 17/10/2008, Last updated on: 17/04/2010

» As a long-historied Farang resident myself, comfortable and understanding, I have to ask the age old question regarding Westerners that find it necessary to stay/live here while finding life so objectionable in many ways. Why is this so? I've experienced this throughout Asia {in particular the LOS}...

    • Carlsson commented : 2015), I asked them about the new rules. They told me that they had never heard anything about it. They did not know anything about it! So the government announces a new set of rules, which will make everything easier for expats as well as for immigration officials. But immigration officials do not know anything about the new rules. Who is right? According to Thai Immigration, there are only 2 ways to do the 90 days report: show up in person or by post. There is no way to do the 90 days report via email. Bureaucracy is a wonderful thing!

    Publicity never bad

    News, Postbag, Published on 16/02/2016

» Thanks for your brave attempt at clarifying what bridge is and is not (Life, Feb 15). One of the unintended consequences of the saga is that the Pattaya bridge club, small by international standards, is now the most famous in the entire world, with several hundred newspaper and TV reports and tens of thousands of comments on blogsites talking about it. The tale has also made Jeremy Watson (the organiser) and myself (the founder, in 1994) the best-known bridge players throughout the five continents even though our standards sadly fall short of the brilliance usually required for notoriety.
