From Nov 14 to March 14 next year, a newly opened photo centre, House of Lucie, will be presenting "A Lifetime Of Work" by Steve McCurry. McCurry is known for his stunning portraits and coverage of civil conflicts across Asia, with his most iconic work being the 1984 portrait Afghan Girl, printed as the cover of National Geographic one year later.     » 1:Galerie Oasis Bangkok's newest art venue, located above Cinema Oasis (Sukhumvit 43) will be launching today with Piyatat Hemmatat's Eden Part II: An Exhibition Of Bronze Sculptures & Photographs. In continuation of "Eden, Part I", in Charoen Krung's Serindia Gallery, the photographer and contemporary artist explores the concept and idea of banned substances through 3D bronze sculptures. Recreating his own Garden of Eden, Piyatat has moulded Biblical serpents that turn into enticing hands and eyeballs, sprouting serpent hearts, and many more creatures that comprise the mythology of this era.     » 1. Another Italian talent is dropping by Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit's The Living Room to wow audiences with his world-class Jazz. For only one night, on Oct 19, Nicola Tariello Quintet will be performing three sets from his "Sotto Le Stelle Del Jazz" -- "Under The Stars Of Jazz" -- project, an evocative interpretation of Paolo Conte's work under the same name. Tariello, a renowned trumpet player, will be exploring jazz from the 1920s all the way to his very own original arrangements. The Nicola Tariello Quintet will play three 45-minute sets at 9pm, 10pm and 11pm. An entertainment fee of 300 baht will be applied, except to guests spending at least 1,000 baht per person at any of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit's dining venues.
