» One of the biggest K-pop stories in December has been the enlistment of the remaining four members of BTS for mandatory military service. On Dec 11, RM, the leader of BTS, and V, the vocalist, began their enlistment. The following day, two other vocalists, Jimin and Jungkook, entered training camps in Yeoncheon together. As the world's biggest boy band goes on hiatus, it will be interesting to see which rival claims the top spot in the absence of BTS.

» 'I'm not dancing, I'm fighting/ I'm not shining, I'm burning," Tirzah Mastin sings over the sparse rigidity of four-to-the-floor beats on the title track off her 2013's debut I'm Not Dancing EP. This was her way of rebelling against the EDM trends in pop music -- an admirably bold statement coming from someone who was just starting out. Hailing from Essex, Mastin operates mononymously as Tirzah. Under that moniker she explores her penchant for all things leftfield, fusing post-grime and futuristic R&B with experimental pop -- all courtesy of her school pal producer Mica Levi.

» 1Bangkok's most renowned showcase of world-class gastromony will be starting this Monday, running for one week at Ananta Siam Bangkok. The 17th World Gourmet Festival, supported by San Pellegrino, is bringing in nine master and Michelin-starred chefs from the World's 50 Best Restaurants 2016 to assemble and show off their delectable cuisine. Apart from being able to enjoy the chef's creations, there will also be workshops and masterclasses, like the Parfum Berger workshop, combining fragrances with wines and unique dishes. Prices range from 5,000 to 8,900 baht for the wine-pairing meal, brunch costs 3,500 baht per person, and master classes range from 1,200 baht to 3,000 baht.
