    Memories, blurred and reconstructed

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 18/01/2017

» On the walls in the showroom of Kathmandu Gallery are Harit Srikhao's precious memories. Thirty small photographs are arranged in a single line on two walls that face each other. The frames display obscure images of children playing in decrepit buildings, multicoloured fish in tanks, blurred snapshots of stars, and most disturbing of all, pickled infants in glass jars. Placed in the middle of the room on a podium is a black stereoscope, reminiscent of what you would find from your childhood. It displays seven of Harit's selected memories, this time much brighter, dreamier and overlaid with fantastic bursts of the cosmos. The shots are akin to a scene in a movie when someone's nightmarish recollections flash before their eyes.
