Welcome to the quarter-life crisis
Guru, Sumati Sivasiamphai, Published on 11/05/2012
» I know you imagine me to be the sort of suave girl who turns heads everywhere she goes, with legs so long they stretch from Thong Lor to Mor Chit, and a smile that could light up Sukhumvit when the power goes out during a rainstorm. Yes, on the surface it seems I'm one big walking eye-gasm who has her shiz together. But the truth is...

Sometimes we all just need a hug

» Before any lawsuits or pink slips get thrown my way, let me first state for the record that the following grievances are in no way related to the esteemed company I work for. All gripes resembling living persons are merely fictitious or coincidental, and do not reflect upon my 9am to 5pm (OK, fine, 11am to 2pm) existence.

The pitfalls of partying
Guru, Sumati Sivasiamphai, Published on 25/05/2012
» As the living symbol of professionalism (I sometimes brush my hair before coming to work), I try not to let my social escapades interfere with my job. But alas, with the lifestyle publication that is Guru, sometimes our hard-hitting investigation requires us to proclaim, "Do you know who I am?" to crash the hottest spots in town and check out what the kids and middle-aged folks reliving a second youth are up to these days.

Alternatives to the food pictures you want to upload
Guru, Sumati Sivasiamphai, Published on 09/11/2012
» Any non-anorexic with an appetite and a smartphone can upload pictures of their food to social networking sites these days. While I don't want to deny you your right to take part in the most exciting activity to ever infiltrate mealtimes, the trend seems to be getting pretty old. There doesn't seem to be any sort of criteria to separate the truly amazing dishes from the goopy messes that people post online, resulting in a barrage of photos that serve no purpose whatsoever except for people to comment with truly creative things like "Yum!", "Yumm!", or "Yummmmmmm!"
