Why is this so? I've experienced this throughout Asia {in particular the LOS} concerning Western residents or quasi-wannabes that insist to have questionable and objectionable lives - usually their angst is directed to all aspects of their host country. So why do they hang around? Any social scientists out there that might shed some light {metaphorically} on this complex social paradox? Without resorting to the old reliable stereotypes and myths that pertain to the contadictory Farang mindset. I've interacted a time or two with such creatures, but for years I tend to steer away from this type of Farang. I would prefer other company.[/quote:31tcguyc] dont confuse a drive to improve and address inadequacies as dissastifaction. i personally have as much to complain about at home. however, even when i am disagreed with, i rarely experience the defensiveness that comes with being in asia. this untouchable stance is afterall my main complaint. it also accounts for the corruption and prostitution which i take you are not defending directly.

» According to Peter Airasian, the author of education assessment textbooks, "assessment is the process of collecting, synthesizing and interpreting information to aid classroom decision-making. It includes information gathered about pupils, instruction and classroom climate". I particularly like this definition because it is comprehensive. When taken seriously and applied in schools, this approach to assessment produces a significant difference in the way students learn and continue learning.

    Need to know

    Database, Published on 17/02/2010

» The US Federal Bureau of Investigation began a campaign to force all Internet providers in the United States to record and file all web activity by all users, all the time, in case the FBI ever needed the information; FBI director Robert Mueller said he wants storage of "origin and destination information," able to be retrieved with a search warrant issued by a judge in important cases such as terrorism, kidnapping, criticism of FBI and the like; in a huge, shocking coincidence, pretty well every US state investigation bureau backed the FBI proposal, because you never know when a state prosecutor might need information about the surfing habits of a nefarious outlaw, paedophile or political opponent, not that top investigators would ever stoop to asking for politically related surfing records, perish the thought; the FBI, by the way, does not want actual data such as email retained, only the information recording the origin and destination of a web session - for now.
