ยป Growing up around the world, I have always heard people say that "justice is blind", meaning that justice is supposedly impartial and objective. The allusion here is partly to the Greek goddess of divine law Themis. Every statue of justice wears a blindfold so as not to symbolically treat friends differently from strangers, or rich people better than poor people.
