On the other hand, knowing that she's repping Thailand in an all-female group exhibition celebrating women for the occasion of International Women's Day, we're curious of what themes and images this clearly multicultural homie will bring to the table. We spoke to 29-year-old artist Karma Sirikogar to pick her brains about feminism and also learn more about her background and style of visual abstraction.

» The most interesting thing happening at the EM District right now is the annual EmQuartier Art Festival. Aside from the art market and creative workshops for you to swan-dive into, the festival's main exhibition should definitely be on your agenda, as it is the first dual exhibition between two masters of Thai abstract art, Somyot Hananuntasuk and Somboon Hormtientong. Guru catches up with the legends to get a better understanding of what draws them towards abstract art and what it has meant to them for the last 40 years and counting.

» There's one part of higher education in Thailand we can confidently say is more impressive and challenging than that of any other country -- our graduation ceremonies. It's every Thai parent's dream to see their grown kids suffer through at least two full days -- dress rehearsal and the actual commencement -- of outdoor photo shoots while dressed in elaborate uniforms, plus the gown, props and an inhuman amount of make-up and hairspray. Did I mention that we're in a tropical country where it is pretty much the scorching summer year-round?!
