    Love, always

» Flowers are always a nice gesture, but ones that can last forever are sure to give you a better run for your money. Why not gift mum with some jewellery pieces that come with the floral sentiment? Flowery assortments from Swarovski come in contemporary designs which feature a timeless black and white colour combo. They've also got a pearl option where they can be removed from the earring to channel the asymmetrical earring trend. If you want real diamonds, Tilda's Mother's Day collection features florals which also hold symbolic meaning through eight flower petals. Eight represents infinity, or infinite love in Western culture, while signifying wealth, or infinite fortune in Chinese culture. Otherwise, seal your love with hearts from Pandora which also comes in rose or golden hues this season. Their iconic logo and heart-shaped charms come in sweet colours that will blend right in with your staple silver set, while there are also letter charms to spell out your appreciation for mum.

» Reboots of larger-than-life franchises that plunk in an all-female cast are always a good idea. Why? Not because of all that feminism babble, thank you very much, but because women definitely have more fun. It was the case with Ghostbusters last year and Hollywood has done it again this time by putting female stars into the world of heists pulled by the Oceans. In this latest edition, following the three previous films directed by Steven Soderbergh, we meet Sandra Bullock as the recently paroled Debbie Ocean -- younger sister of the (maybe) deceased Danny Ocean.

» One of the most anticipated fashion gatherings of the year is about to be smaller than ever. This year, Fashion Fieldtrip, which features shows by Bangkok's cultishly followed brands, including Asava, Issue and Vickteerut, will be welcoming only 150 spectators. This is a stark difference to the guest list that reached four digits in the past. Whether Fashion Fieldtrip is returning to its roots or is just finding an excuse to downsize in the face of an economic downturn has yet to be seen with how well the shows turn out on Sept 17 at Bangkok City City Gallery. Still, with this relatively new space at Sathon playing host to a handful of highly buzzed and hot exhibitions and events in the past few months, it is in good taste that the three founders of the club decided to hold their fashion/art exhibition inside this popular white box.

Activities at the Sook Jai Zone will feature Lanna-style performances such as Jeng dance, a northern elegant but exhilarating dance that has roots in martial arts. At the Sard Sanook Zone, splash away all the heat at the mobile water park, which will be equipped with a giant water slide and water tunnel. For some retro fun, there will also be a traditional temple fair, with all its old-fashioned ice pops, sugar candy sculptures, shooting galleries and dunk tank girls. » Not all of us will make our mark as Mona Lisa, but it is possible to be the centre star of an art piece. If you are a self-confessed shutterbug and lover of art, an interactive art exhibition is currently ongoing at Emporium right now under the name Museum of Me (MOME). Inside the pink pastel box, which has just popped up inside their department store, this museum's showcase will not be complete without its main exhibition: you. Get snapped upon entering MOME and get ready to see yourself turned into art works by 10 different artists. The summer museum visit all ends at the museum gift shop, which of course, sells mementos that star you.
