» As we know, in Malaysian Shariah Law, it's not easy to get marry without permission with parents or qualified member in family . But when we think wisely, It's not wrong to get marry in Thailand. It's legal in Islam but illegal for Malaysia Law. They go there to get marry because of certain reasons...

    Pre-Marital Sex. - Part I.

By Anonymous, Created on: 18/06/2003, Last updated on: 26/04/2007

» Hello Mr. Rooster ; I moved this discussion to this more appropriate thread. Mr. Rooster wrote : "People are like animals, and their sexual drives will involve some types of pre-marital sex. So prostitution will be there to provide needed service. " The sexual urge is indeed extraordinarily powerful,...

    • Anonymous commented : ? Were people unhappy?? Was divorce rampant? Were children abandoned? Were children being molested and kidnapped? Were there single mothers? Were teens killing themselves? Were women being battered? Were there teen gangs? Was there prostitution? (yes, but no police force was necessary to control or limit it. It was self-limiting). California was one of the first states to raise the age of consent. It raised it from ten to fourteen in 1889 and then from fourteen to sixteen in 1897. Then, in 1913, California again raised it from sixteen to eighteen. Tennessee went the furthest: under Tennessee law, it was a felony to have sex with any woman under twenty-one. Has this stopped anyone from having sex?? We created this problem ourselves. Raising the age of consent to marry GUARANTEES pre-marital sex, and a LOT of it! Raise the age of consent higher and I guarantee you'll have even MORE pre-marital sex, certainly not less. We think we need to graduate from college first, or that young people are too "immature". Unfortunately, you cannot tell hormones to wait until after college, nor should you. This is a good example of passing a law to fix one problem only to have 10 bigger problems explode a few years later (pre-marital sex, over-crowded prisons, teen pregnacy, teen suicide, drug abuse, single mothers, violence against women, divorce, sexual dysfunction, prostitution, etc.) Rather than allow our sons and daughters to marry, we think it perfectly normal to send them with our blessings on a road to hell. We make these problems ourselves. Cheers!!

    • Anonymous commented : hould be no surprise when our divorce rate skyrockets. We inadvertently train our kids to be good at breaking up, and then we are surprised when they can't stay together. So after many train wrecks (and probably a few children both in and out of marriage), and inner reflection, this person makes a concious decision to make it work. Great. This type of relationship is just a shell of what if could have been, vibrancy and love replaced by pragmatism. But if this is what you mean by mature, then sorry to say, but I don't want my daughter to be "mature" when she gets married. It was never this way before for many thousands of years. Try to understand that I agree with you that sex should be saved for marriage!! The point I am trying to make is that many years ago, this was EASY!!!! People got married BEFORE their biological urges started. Then incredibly strong bonding occured, therefore few breakups, very few single people to temp the married, in short it was EASY to achieve this. Can you understand what I am saying?? The very situation everyone desires (no sex outside marriage, low divorce rate, etc.) was EASY to achieve before. It was not difficult. It was EASY!! We have arbitrarily decided that you should be "mature" before you get married. This is exactly what is causing all the problems. This is not an unsolvable problem. We have done this to ourselves. By the way all of the information you posted about age of concents is available in my very first post by clicking on the link I provided. So thanks again for your post.

    • Anonymous commented : strive for if you want a low divorce rate. Contrast this to our current "wisdom", which strives for independance, self sufficiency, strength, women's rights, men's right's, children's right's, and the whole "dating game", which takes our children's precious hearts and rips them to shreds. The new thinking cannot solve any of today's problems. Rather, it is the cause of today's problems. Who do you think will have a lower divorce rate, the "ancient tradition" mentioned above, or our "new thinking" tradition? I believe things could improve substantially if we try to fuse some of the elements of "ancient tradition" with the rigors and "artificial environments" of modern life. This is entirely possible, but so far our sociologists and cultural leaders (both in the West and in Thailand) have failed to even identify the root cause of the problems. This is why everyone is spinning out of control, and this is why I know that things will continue to get worse, MUCH, MUCH worse before they get better. Cheers!!

    • Anonymous commented : jective. So when I hear that divorce is increasing, murder is increasing, rape is increasing, violence is increasing, suicide is increasing, etc., my immediate and first question will always be "What are the things that have changed since when we didn't have these problems?". This is just good, prudent problem solving. In this case there will undoubtedly be a long list of things that have changed. So the next task is to narrow down the long list of things that have changed to only those things which may be the cause of the problem. I would like to hear from other forum participants, but my short list includes (in addition to the two mentioned above) : mass media, women in the workplace (women's liberation in general), age of consent laws (average age of marriage in general), reduction of arranged marriages and rise of the dating game, separation of church and state, rise of consumerism, abandonment of religions, increasing life span, increased standard of living, ease of divorce. Undoubtedly I have missed a few. What significant things have changed since when we didn't have these problems? Posts are welcomed. I don't say I'm right. I say let's discuss it. Then we can move to the next step of problem solving. Cheers!!

    • Anonymous commented : es not work! Everyone quotes divorce rates of 50+%, but I say those statistics are nonsense, and our divorce rate is actually 99.9%! Why do I say this? I consider EVERY sexual relationship that ends to be a divorce. In other words, if two people are having a sexual relationship, then in God's eyes they should be married. This is exactly what common law marriage is all about. If that relationship ends, it is no less of a divorce because they did not get married, although it does not show up in divorce statistics. Put another way, let's say that marriage is outlawed. If no-one is getting married, then the divorce rate would fall to ZERO also! This appears to suggest that every relationship is wonderful, when in fact the reality could be very different. The picture for marriages is bleak, but the picture for singles is equally bleak. About one million or more teenage girls become pregnant every year, at a rate of 3000 per day, 80% of whom are unmarried. Out of this I million, about 500,000, decide to keep their baby, and 450,000 are aborted (or ? murdered). 100,000 decide to deliver and give the baby up for adoption. In 1950 the incidence of birth from unmarried teenagers was only 13.9%, but in 1985 it increased to 59%. In 1985 alone, 10 million cases of chlamydia, 2 million cases of gonorrhea, I million venereal warts, 0.5 million genital herpes and 90,000 syphilis were diagnosed. Not a pretty picture. So getting married does not work, and staying single does not work. Our current system does not work! It was not this way before. Cheers!!

By Anonymous, Created on: 23/08/2003, Last updated on: 21/10/2007

» I would like to learn about the Thai lady in marriage and the Thai culture. The reason for this, is that after literally travelling the world for many years, during work commitments, and meeting along the way many ladies for serious relationships. I met along the way a lady from Thailand. We met many...

    • Anonymous commented : n of marriage caused increase divorce and separation in Thailand and in their home countries. It is this type of foreign values that help caused the degradation in Thai society. One version of Christian religion of the Mormon faith does not belief in the same values as the other Chirstian faiths. They were suppressed by the mainstream Christian religions. However, there are pockets of Mormon communities in mostly Western US that still continued to practice polygamy according to the bible. However, ...let face the true fact. It is not about religion or culture. Today, it is all about women' feelings and how they viewed institution of marriage - which mostly influenced by foreign cultural fads like a bad fashion for family.

Marry in Thailand 1st then Apply for Immigrant Visa to USA

By Anonymous, Created on: 15/05/2004, Last updated on: 23/09/2007

» I'm an US citizen living here in Northern California. I plan to get married sometime next year in Thailand to a Thai woman who works as a registered nurse, as she plans on moving here in the US afterwards. I researched the US consulate in Bangkok and US Immigration (USCIS.gov) and sort of understand...

    • Anonymous commented : ith a legitimate husband with divorce certificate. You must be read by a lawyors on all these documets of Thai language. Many women tries to fabricate or make up the document with conspiracy with registration officials with bribe. Taking a woman overseas is not a big deal but taking her child must be very careful otherwise you will be later accused of child traffickers by the real father of the child. I have recently seen a case that a Thai female tried to smuggle out two children to adoption to an american fiancees and all documentations and travel was on procedure duly by the new man's financial and document support. Later they were caught by the children's father and he accused all of them including the female mother, sister into Thai court and take legal formality through American embassy to catch New York Thai agent, the fiancee. He put the heaviest accusation to all "Human Trafficking and violations on Thai family related laws" which subject to 5 years jail terms including the female mother who received dowry from the old husband and new husband. This is a tragedy but you will not repeat again.

    • Anonymous commented : again therefore they will get divorce. She have had previous relationships but nothing serious. We are not planning on having children. What I want for her when she comes here is to learn english that later she can do some part time job because with this age gap I think it will be good for her because at some point I will be gone and I want her to be independent, what I will get when I retired won't be enough, I became a us citizen some years back and I don't have that long of a history working here in the usa. My GF used to work in a 7/11 as a cashier, she know how to make nails and she looks very smart I think there are good oportunities for her in this country. I met her online and the pcitures that she had there were with tank tops and short skirts but I saw so many girls dress like that in Thailand that I don't think that is wrong.

    • Anonymous commented : all of you need to have good divorce lawyer number handy too. How much would it cost to raise a child and send them to college too? Oh, I am very sexist since I think nature has made men as masculine and women as femiline. There are no sexless society. Yes, some boy-boys and girls-girls would pretend to create sexless society like same sex marriage and other sexless things with government supports.
