    • Anonymous commented : bales, then use them in home construction at a pittance of cost. They are essentially rated at R56! Which means they insulate bigtime, as the walls of the homes are literally as thick as a bale, additionally they can be put up with a few friends in a weekend! Simple. Look up "hay bale houses". on Google. Also there is no waste and pollution by the burning. Janet

I would recomment using rice straws in the constructions of traditional Thai structures and roofing ...and not permanent structures like houses. Rice straws do make excellent semi-permanent structures like gazebos, patio covers, sala covers, playhouses, field and ranch houses, etc..

    • Anonymous commented : n the world---until the house construction got underway. Thereafter, I would say she launched a campaign to destroy our relationship through lies, combativeness, and secretly running up about $5,000 in debts. It now looks to me like a very pre-meditated plan to get as much out of me in as short a period of time as possible, and then end the relationship in order to lay claim to half the property we had purchased after marriage. In sum, my advice to anyone planning on marrying a Thai woman would be to GET A PRE-NUPTUIAL AGREEMENT. I don't care how sweet, innocent, unassuming she appears to be. When a Thai woman says "I love you" it does not mean the same thing as when a foreigner (westerner) says this. Signed, Burned in Lopburi I iAs soon asooo

Concrete roads have been laid through the mountain, though construction was allowed only on the 198-rai low-lying areas. Project administrator Suthep Wangdan claimed to have obtained permission from tambon Koh Samui municipality. He also claimed to have obtained a Nor Sor 3 land ownership document over the plot as long ago as 1989. Mr Charoen said the district land office was gathering rights papers for inspection. Caretaker Natural Resources and Environmental Minister Yongyuth Tiyapairat will take an investigation team to inspect the area tomorrow. He raised concerns about forest encroachment on the island, saying local authorities were moving too slowly to tackle the problem. A regulation to curb mountain encroachment would be introduced. It would apply in areas higher than 150 metres above sea level, and restrict the height of the buildings to no more than six metres, with each development plot limited to 75 square metres.

    Nuclear Power for Thailand

By Anonymous, Created on: 04/09/2007, Last updated on: 09/07/2014

» The Prime Minister has explained the plan for a nuclear power plant to produce energy for Thailand and help Thailand move away from reliance on oil and gas. Thailand is a net importer of energy, getting much of its energy from the middle east at a huge cost to the country. Added to that the use of...

    • Wizard commented : rmal power plants planned for construction are binary-cycle. Main Advantages Geothermal energy offers a number of advantages over traditional fossil fuel based sources. From an environmental standpoint, the energy harnessed is clean and safe for the surrounding environment. It is also sustainable because the hot water used in the geothermal process can be re-injected into the ground to produce more steam. In addition, geothermal power plants are unaffected by changing weather conditions. Geothermal power plants work continually, day and night, making them. a fantastic proposition to investors and from an economic view, geothermal energy is extremely price competitive in some areas and reduces reliance on fossil fuels and their inherent price unpredictability. It also offers a degree of scalability: a large geothermal plant can power entire cities while smaller power plants can supply more remote sites such as rural villages. The SPGAsia Concept is to use the old wellhead Platforms and Refurbish the old well bore hole with Heat resistance liner and introduce Topside Control in its Harness and Steam Process insure the safety of the sea water returns back to the Sea clean and Risk free. Typical costs are 400M/700M for each Plant offshore Gary B Edwards Managing Director Member International Geo Thermal Consultants Subsea Power Group Asia Co.,Ltd

    • drake commented : ad held. Yet, as some of the constructions were clearly below specifications the reactors lived for their entire designed life expectancy and survived through all of the previous quakes of 'expected' intensity - a testament to the engineering and robustness of the system itself. So far, there are less dead/injured/loss from this Nuclear event than the Tsunami itself or the Tsunami of 2004 but yet all the irrational anti Nukers are so focoused on it. Why ? At the end, this will proved to be just a fraction of the Chernobyl incident and mostly forgotten. Opponents of nuclear power always point to historical negatives, as insignificant as they are, rarely if ever admitting to what else are available or what good had come from Nuclear Science and Technologies so far. Today, other Nuclear technologies beyond BWR or Uranium Cycle fuels are available. Nobody talks about them much. From what I gathers the anti-nuke don't want them because their singular reason for existence will be mitigated and the pro-nuke don't want them because it's a competing technology and there is less money in it. As for decisions rashly made by politicians at the behest of Green Loons the world over to abandon Nuclear Power, some things are better left to adults and we will sort that all out in due time.
