LIFE

In tune with the times

B Magazine, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 08/07/2018

» For over 30 years, Pongsit Kampee has been telling stories about people, their struggles, grievances, and of love lost. To say that he is Thailand's Bob Dylan may be a bit of an overstatement, but he's one of the few we have who may merit that comparison.

Bloody artists

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 07/11/2018

» Hung on the walls of Sukhumvit 43's Galerie Oasis are oil paintings oozing with grief, melancholy and pain. Subversive, perverse, funny, honest?

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 10/03/2017

» Walking into "Hope Land" -- Jam Cafe's latest photography exhibition by rising American talent Adam Birkan -- some may appreciate the minimalist shots of people going about their day, soi dogs standing around in dumpsters, and the typical scenes of Bangkok's bustling chaos. Some, however, may also think that all of this is nothing new.

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 07/03/2017

» For 19 years, Thai rock band Big Ass has given Thailand some of its most iconic rock anthems, like Len Khong Soong and Kar Noi Som Kuan Tai (I'm bad ... I know). Writing, producing and having full autonomy on their own songs since their conception, they've been nominated and have won countless awards for their heavy melodic sound and motivational lyrics, growing a large and solid fan base.

Gloriously absurd

Artful dissidence

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 21/11/2018

» In a political climate where the concept of nationalism is blindly shoved down our throats and expressing one's opinions that are "inconsistent with truth" is a criminal offence, there are those who will always find a way to retaliate. From bombshell music videos, to poetry and artworks, one figure has seemed to catch the collective attention of those exasperated by the Kingdom's state of governance.
