    Unconventional tours

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 06/10/2017

» Bangkok has got so much to offer for tourists, so much that we don't even need to talk about the rest of Thailand, what with its southern beaches and mountains in the North. But since Bangkok is such a tourist hotspot, the usual tourist locations are just that -- the usual. Is there a way of seeing and experiencing the city with new eyes, be it your first time travelling here or after a lifetime living here? We here at Guru have compiled a number of tours that will do just that. Whether you want to experience Bangkok's nightlife or the roots of the local lifestyle, we're sure you'll find something below that'll help you experience the city -- and what lies beyond -- like never before.

    Don't rain on my parade

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 19/07/2019

» The rainy season is in full swing and downpours are becoming more and more common, so us Bangkokians are either being rained upon or being beaten down by heat, so yay! While the rain (or the heat) tempts us all to lock ourselves up at home, that doesn't have to be the case. Rainy days don't necessarily mean bingeing Netflix shows (nothing bad about that though, you do you). But if you're getting a little bit of cabin fever and think that the pesky rain is keeping you from fun and entertaining stuff, think again. Guru has listed a number of indoor activities during the monsoons.

    Beauty in brutality

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 26/06/2020

» The Last of Us was a groundbreaking game that took players through an emotional story with nail-biting tension due to trying to sneak around undetected and also having a number of good scares provided by the zombie-like creatures known simply as the Infected. Obviously, they figured out a way to continue the story and make another game that would hopefully satisfy players worldwide. But does it?

    Yesterday, today & forever

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 10/07/2020

» It doesn't matter whether you're a kid or you're seasoned in your years: if you haven't been living under a rock and you love movies, you know who Tom Hanks is and you love him. What's not to love? He voiced a cowboy that takes us back to our childhood, played a lovable slow-witted man who taught us that life is like a box of chocolates and he's also led us through the hells of World War II during D-Day. He returns to that era of history in his new film, Greyhound, which he stars in and also wrote the screenplay for. He plays Captain Ernie Krause who helms the titular ship and is also leading a number of ships through a dangerous part of the Atlantic Ocean. Guru was able to join a digital press conference where he talks about the parallels between World War II and how Covid has affected film-making.

    Mind games

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 11/12/2020

» Existential questions like "Who am I really?" and "What's my purpose here in this world?" aren't really questions you'd think would be asked by a Call Of Duty game, yet surprisingly, Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does address that in a sort of mind-bending way. Oh, and you also get to jump into shoot-em-up game modes with other players that make you realise just how much of a noob you are but hey, that's Call Of Duty for you.
