    » Amorn Chaivongfhun, a 26-year-old Thai women, reported at the Pattaya police station that she had been cheated of a valuable iPhone. She claimed to have met a man in a shop on Walking Street who said he could provide an excellent time in bed. After accepting his offer and going to his room, Amorn stepped into the shower and the man stepped out of the room with her 20,000-baht mobile phone. Police later caught 46-year-old Chalermporn Saeung who admitted to the theft and offered to return the iPhone to avoid going to jail. He was released after giving back the telephone and paying a 2,000 baht fine.

    Drinking session leads to deportation

    » A labourers’ camp at Pattaya’s Soi 5 was the scene of a boozing session which went wrong when police turned up and discovered 19 Cambodians who were working illegally in the Kingdom.  The illegals said that they had had to pay 3,000 baht to be brought to Thailand and were disappointed only to receive 100-200 baht a day for heavy manual work in a 70-hour week.  One of the Cambodians, Nok, was hit with a metal pipe during an alcohol-related argument with other Cambodians; his assailants escaped in the confusion as police arrived.  All those caught will be returned to the Cambodian border, but they may turn up here again soon.

Regular police then seized the suspect who took police to his home where they found 200 gms of the ice drug in six sealed plastic bags.

    Teens caught after snatch and grab

    » Two 16 year old youths who were enrolled at a famous Pattaya school were arrested in the vicinity of the Land Office, Suksabai Villa, after being found in possession of a woman’s hand bag with 200 baht inside.  The victim of an assault Miss Phanida said two men on a motorbike had snatched her belongings as she was driving along in a peaceable manner.  The youths in question said they were very sorry for the offence but were disappointed that the theft resulted in so few gains.  They had hoped for a more substantial haul.

    Short-sighted woman admits thefts

    » Undercover police arrested Banglamung resident Aroona Singhtoh, 26, for her involvement in stealing up to 30 motorbikes. Bike parts were then sold to various dealers and business operators. Investigators said that CCTV cameras had caught several of the thefts. Nineteen-year-old Aw from Myanmar was also implicated in the crimes. Aroona had nothing to say about the thefts but pointed out she was unable to drive any vehicles because of poor eyesight.
