Born Amita Marie Young to an American father and a Thai mother, Tata had her first taste of success at the tender age of 11 when she won the Nissan Awards Thailand Junior Singing Contest. It didn’t take long before she was noticed by the bigwigs at GMM Grammy, the country’s biggest record label and the force behind some of the most successful local artists including Thongchai “Bird” McIntyre and Christina Aguilar.
