    family visa

By Anonymous, Created on: 02/01/2004, Last updated on: 12/09/2006

» When the Thai government will allow foreigners with Thai spouse and children to own a one year visa without the need to travel out of the country every 3 month or to show 800 thousands bahts in a bank account, this is very unfair and even most of the Thais don't earn this sum per year, why this discrimination...

    • Anonymous commented : Yes, it would be nice like business. But the problems are still the same old problems of foreigners using marriage to gain property control over Thais and drive up prices. The Chineses, Indians, Muslims, and other foreigners have done these things so the laws are there for good reasons. The Chineses and Indians are the major real-estate holders in urban areas. I do not think that thing will change until there are real economic equalities in Thailand and money exchange policy.

    • Anonymous commented : PRC for this Chinese-Chinese business dealings. Are you Thai or are you Chinese? You are trying to live your mirage in Thailand and destroying our Thainess and culture in the process.

    • Anonymous commented : of the majority of the local business tycoons are Chinese. More so, it is quite obvious that all leading political parties in Thailan happen to be organized by Chinese. Evidently there had not seen one successful party run by genuine Thai since the second world war. Doesn't that eat your heart out? Listen Rooster.....there are still widely available for empty land in the rural area deep in the jungle of the northeast of Thailand where you can engage the good old typical easy Thai life style. that might help to rehabilitate your nerves. Good luck my friend.

    • Anonymous commented : lation. These foreigners and businesses are like robber-barons. Thai history is full of foreigners who took Thai government and Thais to the cleaner. The 1997 economic collapse was engineered by foreigner who held high position in Thai banking system, Saxana or Saksana. He and other foreign and local corruptors put us under IMF and the indigenous Thais suffered the most. I would recommend to any foreigners to study Thai history , social and economy before making ignorant comments and arguments. Because these people do sounded like those white South Africans, cry baby. Thailand has not go through serious jackboot crackdown to clean up corruption and impounding all the illegal gains. AMLO is still does not have the real teeth and acting like they are working for certain political interests and catching mostly the little fishes.

    • Anonymous commented : elm supports from the Chinese business communities in Thailand. As the results, western governments are labeled as white devils.

    • Anonymous commented : ce all these foreign property businesses would go into cahoots as usual.

    • Anonymous commented : Thais and Chineses controlled business sectors. In Thailand, Thais should have control of all sectors of Thailand. The seasons that we have these problems with unwanted immigrants/refugees are that Thai government never have control of our borders and no immigration services like in Europe or their colonies. European colonial powers were making their own rules against Thailand since they could not totally colonized Siam; therefore, they found many other ways of controlling Thailand and our economy. They divided our territories and people, and they imported their colonial subjects to do their dirty works for them while they extracted our national resources. Please do not talk about equality if you are not very meant it. It made you sounded like someone with foreign agendas. It is obvious that you still inherited colonial mindset. In my opinion, foreigners are simply borrowers and temporaly stewardships of the colonized land; therefore, they have no real final says regarding to these lands. I lived and live in USA as an US citizen, but I am just another borrower and not a full owner of the land like the descendants of Cortez and Mayflower or such people. As borrowers, we have responsibilities to care for the lands and respecting the indigenous people and thespirits of their ancestors. The land has spirit too if you are willing to listen to them. We, Thais, do listen to and respect the spirits of the lands.

    • Anonymous commented : ctors with individually owned businesses? Please listing all the businesses that are controlled by Thai military force and those controlled by Thai police force. Currently, Thai military forces and Thai police force are reflecting their local population since it is more difficult now to bribe/pay-off the draft officials unlike during the early military dictatorships. Did you know that PM Thaksin used to serve in Thai police force? You need to check the current statistic again about who is whom in the high ranking military and police officers. Do you know who is Chavarit? You will change your mind about who are controlling Thai military and police forces now. As I mentioned before, Thailand is not for Thaksin and TRT to give away. As David from Australia mentioned, he was worry about ex-Gen. Suchida...that caused me to wonder why.? Yes, ex-Gen. Suchida wanted to stop this current trend, but he was unsuccessful and have limited knowledge and unestimated the vast political entrenchment of his oppositions.
