Cool finds in Chiang Mai

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 11/11/2016

» We're not just about the "new". We also dig the cool, the fun, the funky and all things slightly hidden from plain sight. So we did a little detour, stepping into one or two "just-opened" venues and we also honed in on some less-discovered (but totally awesome) places. We tried, we tested and we even got a bit lost trying to find some of these hidden gems. So without further ado, dear readers, here are our top Chiang Mai picks for this year's winter season.

Cruising through the jungle

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 27/05/2016

» As an adventure nut, nothing gives me more joy than to be scared out of my own skin for a few seconds. Riding a jungle coaster and zip-lining through Chiang Mai's lush jungle seems to fit that bill perfectly.

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 01/07/2016

» Planning an itinerary for a modern-day traveller is no easy feat. Nomad's land

» Sun, sand and sea are no longer the only features that Phuket has to offer. Pristine beaches and clear blue skies are usually the images we conjure up with every mention of the famed Southern island province, but the recent trend in Phuket's hospitality scene has seen some of the most stunning resorts moving away from beachfront and inland, toward lush verdant valleys.

Kayak through khlongs

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 05/02/2016

» As adventurous as I like to think I am, paddling up and down Khlong Saen Saep is definitely not on my bucket list. The coal-black water brings back nightmares I used to have as a kid, about a man-eating Leviathan residing beneath its surface. Having said that, I do have a soft spot for water sports and discovering new places.

» The allure of Chiang Mai draws all types of nature-seekers to the north of Thailand. The mountainous region offers countless opportunities to connect with Mother Earth, whether it's trekking, forest zip-lining, bathing baby elephants or, you know, simply admiring green areas larger than Bangkok's public parks.

Decrypt, decode & destroy the challenge

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 29/06/2015

» Here’s the thing. As much as I love Bangkok, I hate the fact that sometimes it feels like there’s hardly anything interesting to do in our city. When I say interesting, strolling around a new shopping mall just doesn’t quite do it for me.
