» Today is Makha Bucha Day and Valentine’s Day, which hopefully means that the religious holiday will cancel out all the naughty things people would normally plan to do on the so-called day of love.

People who've had a worse day at work than you
Guru, Sumati Sivasiamphai, Published on 26/07/2013
» Returning to the office after a long weekend can be pretty crappy. Gone are the memories of all the fun things you did during your holiday (although, who are we kidding, you know you spent it sleeping in and relishing in the fact that you didn't have to wear pants for four days). Now it's back to boring work, and scheming about how to make the printer you throw on your annoying colleague's face look like an accident.

The joke's on us!

Now Kasikorn Research Centre estimates Bangkokians will have the joy of enduring about 19.20 million international arrivals by the year's end.

What our corruption looks like
Guru, Sumati Sivasiamphai, Published on 01/02/2013
» Corruption this, corruption that! From the highest ranks of government to the lowest thugs on the streets, the "C" word is constantly cited as the reason our country will never flourish to its full potential. But don't look to the typical apathetic citizen for solutions, as a 2011 Abac poll found that 64.5 per cent of Thais find corruption acceptable if the government can make the country prosper. And even if you find this ethically degrading, I'm sure all these so-called morals go out the tinted window when you're in a situation where some purple or grey notes can easily get you out of a bind.
