» Chiang Mai got its fill last weekend, and now it's time for the Bangkok edition of Galleries' Night, organised by the French embassy. First of all, it just amazes you how active the scene is. » After a four-year hiatus, famed Thai street artist Patcharapon Tangruen, better known as Alex Face, is presenting his solo show "Alive" at Bangkok Citycity Gallery. His absence, however, was merely from gallery spaces for his iconic three-eyed rabbit-like character has been on the streets everywhere -- Bangkok, Jakarta, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, to name a few.

» Art Matters this month begins with words of congratulations to Speedy Grandma which just celebrated its fourth anniversary this past weekend. After closing down for several months because, according to co-founder Lee Anantawat, "we were just bored and tired", the gallery in Charoen Krung 28 is now back and it's just, well, as fun and slightly dingy as before.

    An experimental sensibility

» This month's Art Matters begins with rather worrying news for H Gallery. After a visit to a photography show by Kornkrit Jianpinidnan, which just opened last Saturday at Bangkok Citycity Gallery, one fact hit me hard: Tam, H Gallery's dog in residency, may not be the only contender for the cutest canine in the capital's art scene.

    Paper-thin memories

Life, Kaona Pongpipat, Published on 26/03/2014

» Chath PierSath’s installation of works on paper, “Four Countries”, is an exhibition that balances narration with abstraction. Spread out along columns laid out on the floor allows viewers to browse them in a rather unorthodox method while walking around H Project Space.
