» Kanatip “LoukGolf” Soonthornrak, 29, is best known as the owner and director of Angkriz English Academy. He also starred in Thai sitcom True Love Next Door, and is currently hosting two English shows — LoukGolf’s English Room on GMM channel and A Bit Eng by VRZO. Now the English expert is on an edutainment mission to help Thais use the language as a way to empower themselves, with “The Amazing English Talk Show”, which will take place in Phitsanulok, on Apr 25; Khon Kaen, on Aug 29; and Bangkok, on Sep 27. » Today (Aug 2) is indeed one of the most important dates of the year - it's International Beer Day. Hooray! Beginning in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California, the brew-fest has grown into a global celebration that takes place in 50 countries, including Thailand. While the Thai authorities may appear super vigilant when it comes to drinking, we think this day can be celebrated so long as you're responsible about it. So that's why we're here to help you honour International Beer Day (IBD) like a mature adult. Bottoms up!
Thinking outside the box

» Sometimes it's easy to get frustrated with Thailand's lack of logic when it comes to problem solving. For example, we're constantly warned about the threat of Bangkok sinking, yet developers continue to build hotels, condos and shopping centres, eroding the urban landscape. Ask a student a question that requires critical thinking, and expect a blank stare in response. Politicians go on about making society better, when in reality all they do is give themselves undeserved pay rises and free iPhones.
