    iPhone 7 officially coming

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 19/10/2016

» The iPhone 7 will be on sale in Thailand on Friday and I checked prices on some online sites. Dtac was hiding its information behind passwords: only for those who had pre-ordered. True showed the new iPhones contract-free, from 26,500 baht for the 32GB iPhone 7 up to 39,500 baht for the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus.

iPhone and Apple Watch for health awareness

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 12/10/2016

» Last week Apple rescheduled its quarterly earnings call from Oct 27 to Oct 25: a Tuesday, apparently due to a scheduling conflict. Several commentators are hoping that there could be a new product announcement just before the weekend. Between the two dates is an event in New York when Microsoft will make announcements: "To see what's next for Windows 10." Some speculate there will be other interesting revelations.

    Apple's dip: What comes next?

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 04/05/2016

» Everyone knew Apple was going to have a not-so-good quarter, except perhaps Wall Street, which reacted in the only way Wall Street knows how: hitting Apple's share price and claiming that Apple is doomed (again). Some also called for the head of Tim Cook.

    Apple facts, hints and tips

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 28/10/2015

» Apple has just announced its 4th quarter results. These should be available in several online sources by now. Income will come from hardware such as iPhones and Macs, and services. Some sales figures, such as the Apple Watch, will all be included in an "Other" section.

    Apple Music and updated iPods

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 19/08/2015

» I have been using Apple Music a fair amount, although last week spent time catching up with podcasts I had missed while friends were here. During the week, a number of local users who connect to the internet at home via True were complaining that Apple Music was connecting badly. I had a look in iTunes on the Mac and found that "For You" -- perhaps the most significant part of the service -- would connect, but no music was being played. I also tried the Radio stations. While Beats 1 connected, the Classical and Alternative music stations connected but would play no sound (like "For You").

The iPhone 4: So far, so good

Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 13/10/2010

» I have had the new iPhone 4 in my hands for just over a week and have been getting used to its new features and superior performance. The iPhone 3G that I have been using for some 18 months now has served me well. While the white back has a somewhat matte finish these days, the glass is as clear and unmarked as the day it came out of the box. Instead of an expensive case, I just use an iPod sock, which the staff at iStudio found amusing. It works for me.

    iPhone 4: A Surprise Purchase

Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 06/10/2010

» I did not think I would be writing this column as, despite registering early with Dtac and already having my name on a True iPhone, I was not invited to any events; nor was I surprised by a smiling delivery-man with a shiny new iPhone 4. Speculation on Twitter and Facebook (how we rely on these nowadays) suggested that 18,000 of the devices went to Dtac, 43,000 to True and 20,000 to another carrier. These figures are unsubstantiated; but whatever the real figure, I confirm I did not get one in the release euphoria.

    A Formula 1 fan's dream service

Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 24/03/2010

» I am a long-time follower of Grand Prix racing and can remember as far back as the 1950s, although it was not until the 1970s that I saw a Formula 1 race at a circuit. I visited several races then, but nowadays have to make do with televised transmissions along with whatever news I find online.
