» It was dark outside and the crickets chirped monotonously. The rooster's crow before dawn could easily wake up an entire household. I glanced at my watch only to realise it was 4am. Soon an e-taen, a modified farm truck, would pick me up to go watch the Sun rise over a sea of fog from Huai Ton Hai viewpoint in Sukhothai's Ban Na Ton Chan village.

Sleepy community wakes up

Some shop owners arranged their shelves and filled the space with packages of snacks, daily-use products, and even postcards, while some others prepared their cooking tools to make noodles and hot meals. Coffee shops started to turn on soft music.
