» Ban Nong Ngueak is part of the Yong ethnic community in Lamphun's Pa Sang district. It has been known as a source of fine quality cotton woven fabrics in the northern province. A couple of years ago, the community was promoted by tourism authorities as a creative tourism destination. But when I went, the village was quiet. There was no sign of tourists nor a tourist guide map.

» Before the Sun rose over the Pattani River, one community in the city of Pattani were widely awake or perhaps didn't sleep from the night before. The old quarter was known as Chinatown Pattani. Last Tuesday, it was crowded with thousands of people from many parts of the country as well as visitors from Malaysia. They came to join the annual celebration of Chao Mae Lim Ko Nieo, the revered Chinese goddess.

» After celebrating its centennial birthday two years ago, Hua Lamphong Railway Station -- one of Bangkok's iconic symbols -- is expected to undergo a lot of changes. The State Railway of Thailand said Hua Lamphong would soon be turned into a museum and its infrastructure adjusted to only allow for short and tourism rides.
