» 1. For those looking to experience world-class classical music, the BBC Symphony Orchestra will be performing two concerts at Prince Mahidol Hall on Mahidol University's Salaya Campus. The concerts, at 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, will be conducted by Edward Dardnre and feature piano soloist Benjamin Grosvenor. Tuesday's programme includes HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's compositions, Gary Carpenter's Dadaville, Benjamin Britten's Piano Concerto and William Walton's Symphony No.1. Wednesday's programme will include HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's compositions, Shostakovich's Festive Overture, Mozart's Piano Concerto No.20 In D Minor, Mendelssohn's Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, and Elgar's Enigma variations. Saving the Tamarind

» For over a century the 783 tamarind trees have encircled the sacred ground of Sanam Luang. They were there, like stoic sentinels, during ceremonial pomp and political upheavals, come rain or shine. If the vast ground fronting the Grand Palace is a symbol of Bangkok, the tamarind trees are in turn a symbol of Sanam Luang.

Until Oct 26, Mjöll, who's known for her offbeat humour and fun interaction with audiences, will be performing with The Randy Cannon Group -- a jazz trio consisting of Randy Canon on piano, Willard Dyson on drums and Therdsak Wongvichien on bass. Live At The Living Roomstarts at 8.30pm from Tuesdays to Saturday with a 300 baht entrance fee.
