» Ah, taxis. Can't live with them, can't live without them. Unless you live along the skytrain or subway station or you have the capacity and willpower to survive riding a bus, then taxis are the vein of your existence in terms of transportation. Sure, there are alternatives now like Grab and Uber (legality undetermined but hey, this is Bangkok), but for the longest time before those apps came to save us, we depended on good ol' taxis. Knowing that, we thought that each of us probably had a few interesting taxi rides and we decided to ask you to send us some of yours. You didn't disappoint. » Like Uber or Grab, the app will feature taxi booking reservations and evaluate drivers. It will also have a function for passengers to send a complaint to the DLT. The app is developed by King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

» Taxi service in Thailand is about to enter a new drive after the Cabinet recently approved a draft regulation to allow the use of private cars for transport apps. The draft by the Ministry of Transport is expected to be put to use this month or within July. When enacted, vehicles with up to seven seats that are registered as personal cars can double as taxis via the apps.

» Drivers under the Thai Public Taxi Association wrote on the association's Facebook page, complaining about how the proliferation of electric trains has left many local taxis idle.
