More than just a role to play

» Kelly B Jones is pretty well known in Bangkok’s acting circles; in recent years, among many roles, she played the lead in Culture Collective’s play Death of Miss America and was in two feature films by Asylum Films, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and Troy 2, which is due to to come out at the end of October. But Guru, enamoured also by her ability to juggle different roles outside the world of acting, decided to sit down with the talented actress and voice-talent to dig deeper into her quest for making the planet more eco-friendly, one school at a time. Her current position as Director of IPC Green International Preschool and Nursery, Bangkok’s first eco-friendly school, is testament to this journey we all need to start walking, together. » This week we sit down with actress and theatre enthusiast Bonnie Zellerbach, known by many Bangkokians for her monumental roles with The Bangkok Community Theatre (BCT). From script-writing and directing to stage design, costume design and acting, you name it, she's done it! Little did we know she has also been cast in several international movies, played a nurse to Christian Bale and penned a few plays of her own. An all round impressive lady who has made a huge contribution to Bangkok's theatre and film scene, so definitely worth a read, folks!

This editor may just change the fashion world ... forever

» Sienna De L'Orpaz is Editor in Chief of The Editor Magazine, an intercultural high fashion magazine that is set to be opening its pages — print, online and digital — to Bangkok and the world in January. We felt it necessary to catch up with Sienna as this will be no ordinary magazine, whatsoever. With the aim of removing the bars through which the fashion world has caged us, Sienna feels it's The Editor's responsibility to "break the norms traditional media has bound us by and set unconventional boundaries for beauty and fashion through diminishing all conformities and social norms by including all ages, sizes, nations and cultures". Mad about Marcel

» You're stepping into the cozy abode of a Parisian hipster when you enter Marcel. The black and white chequered floor, the French blue walls, the light wooden tables and the sound of Prince all align together nicely, inviting you to stay. Books and newspapers line the bottom of the staircase, as do Polaroid photos of the restaurant's regular attendees, Marcel's extended family. This family has grown bigger in the last year since its opening.
