» From July 30 to July 31, the Candle Light Procession Ceremony will take place around Phra That Phanom, a major stupa, at Wat Phra That Phanom in That Phanom district, Nakhon Phanom province, to commemorate two important Buddhist days — Asarnha Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent Day. There will be a candle light procession to pay homage to Phra That Phanom as well as an alms offering ceremony. Enshrined within Phra That Phanom are eight fragments of the Lord Buddha's chest bone. According to legend, the Lord Buddha spent a night where Wat Phra That Phanom is located. This stupa is considered a sacred site for those born in the Year of Monkey and also those born on a Sunday.
