Beam me up!

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 23/08/2019

» Interest in extraterrestrial things (and beings) make a comeback to the Thai collective consciousness, thanks to asteroid 2006 QQ23 flying by and a viral video in which a local man, who claims to be a medium of Pluto God, warns humanity of 2020 doomsday in an alien tongue. This got us thinking about the local interest in UFOs and aliens, and how Thailand is linked to alien stories in a way that you may not be aware of. We aren't saying we believe in Pluto God or trying to convince you one way or another but there are many pieces of evidence (of varying degrees of credibility) of alleged alien visits to the Land Of Smiles and they are too fascinating not to share.

One on one with Eleven

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 28/06/2019

» A bazillion of suspicious rats. More of Eleven's nose bleeding and superpower. Mike smooching with El. Will's ongoing connection to The Upside Down. Something that caused Dustin to go, "Holy Mother of God". A new mall where you have fun and also hide from monsters (as you do). And Billy's mullet. These are just some of the strange things coming to Hawkins in the third season of Stranger Things. (see what I did?)

» Christmas Day is just a couple of days away. While Santa is coming to town and you're unsure if you're on his naughty or nice list, there are many kind activities in Bangkok you can do to ensure you'll be in his good graces. Instead of spelling them out, I decide to turn them into a little fun game inspired by Monopoly. May the nicest person win!

Environment Day, Every Day

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 30/11/2018

» A fun fact that you may not be aware of -- Dec 4 is Thai Environment Day and it has been for about 27 years. The Ministry of Science and Technology proposed that the date should observe the importance of the environment and natural resources to people's present and future, and raise awareness on conservation. The Cabinet approved it on Nov 12, 1991. However, what originally inspired the day was a speech by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Dec 4, 1989, in which he showed a great concern for the environment in Thailand.

Exploring lesser travelled paths

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 18/05/2018

» Ray MacDonald is a Thai-Scottish actor/model/TV host who first came into the public's radar as the eccentric co-host of Teen Talk on Channel 5 back in the 90s (sorry, if this reference makes you feel old). He went on to star in many films, commercials and appear on magazine covers. But lately, it seems he has been bitten by the travel bug and can't get over it, resulting in travel shows with unique spins that he has produced and hosted. Food Tribe on LINE TV (three new episodes from Wednesdays to Fridays), his latest effort, yet again showcases his passion for exploring the paths less travelled. He visited tribe people in different parts of the world and went super local, and by that, we mean he lived, hunted and ate with them. Though Food Tribe is half way through, we think you will miss out on something if you don't give it a look. If that doesn't make you want to watch, we spoke to Ray, too.
