MEA Advances Rama IV Road with Underground Cables

» The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the Telecommunications Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, the Royal Thai Police, telecommunications entrepreneurs, and network operators, is supporting the removal of communication cables along Rama IV Road from the Bangkok Station (Hua Lamphong) area to the Sam Yan Intersection, spanning 1.5 kilometres. This initiative is part of a larger project to install an underground communication cable system, with plans to continue the removal of overhead cables in the area until May 2024.

Empowering Thais Against Unplanned Pregnancies

» The Department of Health and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, in partnership with Organon (Thailand) Co., Ltd., have inaugurated the “RakTuaYaKluaFang” campaign. This initiative aims not only to curb unintended pregnancies in Thailand but also to transform community and family perceptions about implant contraception. It advocates that choosing implant contraception reflects self-love and social responsibility. The campaign supports the government's strategy to reduce adolescent pregnancies. The launch event was presided over by Dr. Bunyarit Sukrat, Director of the Bureau of Reproductive Health, with Dr. Sunthorn Sunthornchart, Director General of the Department of Health, and Mr. Koen C. Kruijtbosch, Managing Director of Organon (Thailand) Co., Ltd., also in attendance at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit.

Sarasin Road revamped with no cables

» The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), led by Khajon Srichawanothai, MEA Chairman and Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, reported the success of the project to move the power cables underground on Sarasin Road at the announcement ceremony held on March 8, 2024, at Lumpini Park, Pathumwan District, Bangkok. It was joined by Chatchart Sitthiphan, Bangkok Governor; Vilas Chalaysat, MEA Governor; and the executives of the partnered network.
