Thank You!

Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 06/07/2018

» Thailand breathed a collective sigh of relief on Monday night after a team of 12 teenage football players and their coach were found alive inside Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai after 10 days of being trapped inside. Though we may be able to sleep sound, there's still a long way to go (and many more dramas, rumours and photos of handsome rescuers to come) before they are evacuated to safety. It's already been reported that they may have to stay there for months so let's keep our fingers crossed and our hopes alive.

» Have you ever been completely spellbound by photographs of deteriorating malls and hospitals? We certainly have, which is why we reached out to Dax Ward, the man who captured these places for us so we didn't have to. An American, Bangkok-based photographer, Ward's works have been featured in CNN Style, The Guardian, Lonely Planet and other well-known publications. His beautifully haunting photos of abandoned sites in Thailand are on display at "Abandonia", at Wishbeer the Vue on Charoen Nakhon 13 until Jul 24. We spoke to Ward about his love for the "abandoned".

Any fool can criticise and several do

News, Roger Crutchley, Published on 24/06/2018

» It is probably fair to say that whether it be in the realm of the theatre, cinema or literature, critics are not the most beloved people. British playwright John Osborne once observed: "Ask a working writer what he feels about critics is like asking a lamppost what it feels about dogs."
