» When I was younger, whenever I heard about someone committing suicide, I asked myself how anyone could choose that path, leaving the world and their loved ones behind? To me, it doesn't make anything better. As I grow older, the way I see things has changed, and I have learned to better understand how and why some people suffer. As our understanding grows, perhaps we can do more to help before things get out of hand.

» Last week we saw some interesting developments in the gambling industries of two Southeast Asian nations that have become increasingly allied with China. While I am personally opposed to gambling and casinos, I respect the right of a country to allow them if it feels they will help the economy. But it's an industry that must be managed well in order to avoid negative effects.
