IRPC Expands ‘From Wastes to Walk’ Recycling Initiative

» IRPC Public Co., Ltd. (IRPC), led by Arisara Suthasut, Executive Vice President and the Corporate Branding & Communication team, Office of Corporate Affairs, presented a 240-litre plastic bin to Rajavithi Hospital, represented by Dr. Sumittra Piyanatpul, Medical Vice President, as part of the From Wastes to Walk project. The bins are for collecting polypropylene waste from the manufacturing of prosthetic and orthotic products. IRPC is responsible for the recycling process, producing recycled polypropylene and delivering it to Eastern Polypack Co., Ltd. to manufacture recycled plastic sheets. The finished products are then returned to the Prosthetic and Orthotic Clinic department for patients and disabled individuals.

» As I am writing this in early August, climate finance is becoming a trendier topic in Thailand's financial and business sector. I suspect this is partly due to two recent developments: the upcoming Climate Change Act (the draft of which is making the rounds via public hearing sessions), and the Excise Department's announcement in June 2024 that Thailand aims to become the second country in Asean, after Singapore, to collect carbon tax, which is slated to start at 200 baht per metric ton of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e).
