LIFE

Snapshots from a singular perspective

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 20/10/2017

» Ever since he was a young prince accompanying his brother on royal duties until his final years residing in Siriraj Hospital, the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej was almost never seen without a camera in his hands. It is a rich paradox: one of the most photographed persons in the Kingdom was also an avid photographer who took tens of thousands of pictures of other people during this 70-year-reign. » Mention the Republic of Lithuania to most Thais and we'll probably draw a blank. The Baltic state, located in Northern Europe, isn't usually on our travel radar, though it very well should be. As a country rich in history, culture and pristine nature, it has so much to offer, and Lithuanian photographer Marius Jovaisa wants to show us just that. For the first time in Thailand, Jovaisa, who is a celebrated aerial photographer, has brought his "Unseen Lithuania" exhibition to Bangkok's very own House of Lucie at Ekkamai 8.

Where there's life, there's hope

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 14/09/2017

» Walking into "Hope Land" -- Jam Cafe's latest photography exhibition by rising American talent Adam Birkan -- some may appreciate the minimalist shots of people going about their day, soi dogs standing around in dumpsters, and the typical scenes of Bangkok's bustling chaos. Some, however, may also think that all of this is nothing new.

Heartbeats with piano tweaks

Life, Apipar Norapoompipat, Published on 10/08/2017

» The first sounds heard even before your entrance into the world are your mother's hypnotic heartbeat. It's generally believed that it is a sound critical for the development of a foetus -- a biological and emotional connection unlike any other.
