» Ball marks, shoe damage such as spike marks and scrapes or indentations caused by equipment or a flagstick are regarded as damage to the putting green and therefore may be repaired. Also included would be old hole plugs, turf plugs, seams of cut turf and scrapes or indentations from maintenance tools or vehicles, animal tracks or hoof indentations, and embedded objects such as a stone, acorn, hail or tee and indentations caused by them.

» Working tirelessly on a good setup is an investment for future consistent shots. A good stance to the ball starts a chain reaction of good movements throughout the swing. If you're wrong at the start then required adjustment movements will be required to manipulate the club, or your body, in order to get the club back on track. So, pay particular attention to standing to the ball correctly as this is where good shots start.

» Slightly adjusting the position of your right foot will change the width of your stance and therefore you'll be able to hit the ball at different points on the arc of your swing. » The main difference in swinging a 7-iron and a driver is that you want to hit your driver slightly on the upswing, or at the lowest point of the swing. There are coaches who want their students to practise with a 3-iron thinking that if they can hit a 3-iron all others will be a piece of cake. Perhaps this is true, but this could be looked at as back to front -- because it's easier to learn to hit a good 7-iron first, so when moving to a 3-iron it would not be an issue.

» We are all not cut from the same cloth and the way we control our emotions as we are challenged by this game differs -- some of us just bemoan a bad shot while others throw a club or two.
